Some Reminders For a better and easier learning of Persian through this book, here are some reminders: A. All letters used in Persian words of this book are to be pronounced fully and should be pronounced as their original pronunciation is supposed to be. Therefore, we use letter e always as that in red, bed, etc. The letter o is always pronounced as in border, bore and more; while letter u should be pronounced as in push, full, sure and rural. In Persian, the plural is made by adding an or yan at the end of the noun for animate, and ha for inanimate beings.

Examples: a. Ketab book Ketab-ha books However, like in any other language, there are some irregular plurals in which these rules may not be followed or even interchanged animate for inanimate and vise versa. Unlike in English, the adjective in Persian should be placed after the noun.

This is a mistake oftern committed in our classes by students who would translate their sentences from English into Persian. In this book, to facilitate the pronunciation, some long words are cut into syllables either by comma or dash. We would like to remind the student that in no way does this separation of letters mean a break in pronouncing the words. Examples: Qah, ve-yi brown to be pronounced as Qahveyi Mail-e Shoma as you please to be pronounced as maile shoma Zir-Push underwear to be pronounced as zirpush, etc.

There might be several phrase or other ways of saying the same thing in Pesian, or nay other language for that matter, but in order to avoid confusion and loss of precious time, we shall bring you the easiest and most common words and expressions in the said language.

Keep in mind that sometimes there are two or more words mentioned for one English equivalent; in that case the importance of the wordslies in the order of placing them. Example: Lung English — shosh or reye, the priority goes to shosh than to reye, etc. We hope that these brief explanation will help you in using this book successfully and learn how to speak Persian, without to much difficulty, as many other people from all of life have been able to do so in a very short time.
